l Story

Born into a world in which arms are a way of life, Max Pluck, a gun-loving thirteen year old who’s lost the ability to cry returns to live with his mother following the death of his grandmother. Here, he’ll struggle to overcome his half sister’s jealousy and his mother’s absence of empathy. Just as he’s about to reach these  goals, the imminent return of his stepfather, wounded in war, will put a halt to his desires. The stepfather's refusal to accept Max into his house will trigger within Max’s mother the need to examine her priorities - and lead Max to meet a stranger who will offer him a vision of ultimate personal freedom, while simultaneously allowing Max to discover within himself the peace and self-assurance he has long sought.
